Ah, Vincent van Gogh, the art world's most beloved and tragic redhead. A man who painted with such furious passion that his starry nights swirl and his sunflowers practically burst from the canvas. He only sold one painting in his lifetime, making him the patron saint of struggling artists everywhere. Famously, he was a bit of a character. Rumor has it that after a heated argument with his friend, the artist Paul Gauguin, he sliced off a piece of his own ear and gifted it to a prostitute. Though, to be fair, some whisper that Gauguin, a skilled fencer, might have been the one with the sword. There are even whispers that his final act, a gunshot to the chest, may not have been self-inflicted. Whatever the truth, this Dutch master certainly knew how to make an impression.
